Colors of the Rainbow: Green!

Our next few kids posts are going to focus on the awesome colors of our fruits and vegetables. Did you know that each color has special things they do for your body? That’s why we need to eat the whole rainbow!

Green Vegetables

Today we’ll focus on green fruits and vegetables! Greens have lots of Vitamin C! Do you remember what Vitamin C helps with? It helps you heal faster from cuts and scrapes. It may even help prevent some illnesses.

Dark green veggies have Vitamin K. Vitamin K is important for your blood to stay thick and turn into scabs when you get cut. It’s important for strong bones too!

Which green fruits and veggies can you think of? Maybe kiwi, avocado, grapes, peas, broccoli, cucumbers, brussel sprouts, and lettuce? What is your favorite green fruit or vegetable? Mine is avocados! Eat something green today!
