Snack time can be so much fun, but it’s also an important time to fuel up your body. Want to know an easy trick to make the perfect snack? Match 2! Do you remember the Choose My Plate food categories? There are 5 categories: Proteins, Grains, Vegetables, Fruits and Dairy. When it’s snack time, pick any 2 of those food categories and that makes a snack! Here are some of my favorite snacks (can you name the category they are in?):
- Apple and peanut butter (fruit and protein)
- Green bell pepper or cucumber slices and hummus (vegetable and protein)
- Crackers and cheese (grain and dairy)
